Metal Fence Roll Comparison and Information

This page will help you select and compare the different types of metal fence rolls for your project.

Applications include: metal deer fence, metal garden fencing, metal dog fencing, rodent barrier fencing - or really any need you may have to keep animals in or out.

Note: prices may fluctuate based on the commodity price of steel. Due to production, roll sizes may go in and out of stock throughout the year. Note: typical heights for a metal deer fence range from 6ft tall for a short garden metal deer fence to 8ft tall for a backyard or perimeter metal deer fence.

Critterfence Black Steel Square Grid 2x2 & 2x4

• 2 inch by 2 inch or 2 inch by four inch opening size square welded wire mesh

• 14.5GA after coating 16GA before coating minimum
• Rated for up to 25 years of useful life
• Salt spray approved & engineered for soil to fence contact
• Typically used as a medium to large animal fence including as a metal deer fence
• Not suitable for rodents like rabbits and other small animals around a garden
• Not suitable for all birds
• Typically used as a deer fence, dog fence or farm fence

Critterfence Black Steel Square Grid 1x1

• 1 inch by 1 inch opening size square welded wire mesh

• Black PVC coated - some plain galvanized (silver) variants available

• Rated for up to 25 years of useful life

• Typically used as fence to keep out the smallest animals including rodents and snakes
• Makes a great garden fencing bottom wire fence for gardens or backyard area. Also used to close in or block off areas under decks, etc.

• 18GA after coating 20GA before coating minimum
• Rated for up to 25 years of useful life
• Salt spray approved & engineered for soil to fence contact
• Typically used as a multi-purpose fence to keep out a broad spectrum of animals including birds
• Makes a great garden fence/deer fence
• Comes in larger roll sizes and more economical than welded wire mesh
• Stronger and longer lasting than most other hex products on the market but less breaking strength per square foot than our Critterfence Steel Grid products
